All trucks over 8 tons must stay on Interstate 70 and not use the next exit. The reason is because they don't want you avoiding the Weigh Station that lies ahead at mile marker 151.  (Photo taken 5/16/15).

Interstate 70 West / Interstate 55 South at Exit 3B: Interstate 70 West - Kansas City; Exit 3C: Exchange Ave. This interchange is rather new. They rerouted Interstate 70 West around downtown St Louis by having it depart here and cross the Mississippi River via the Stan Musial Veterans Memorial Bridge. This makes more sense, as it's a more direct route west for I-70 and eases congestion downtown by avoiding having I-70 traffic mixed in with traffic from I-55 South and I-64 West. Note that for the remaining pictures, I will assume the old routing of Interstate 70 West into downtown, running concurrent with I-55 South and I-64 West (ahead).  (Photo taken 5/16/15).

Interstate 70 West (old) / Interstate 55 South / Interstate 64 West crossing the river into Missouri. As you see from the signs here, what used to be Interstate 70 West from here has now been replaced by a slight extension to Interstate 44 East. I-44 East runs directly north briefly from here to connect to Interstate 70 West at the Stan Musial Veterans Memorial Bridge.  (Photo taken 5/16/15).
